Stage Makeup Why's and How's- The Full Deal

Stage makeup is very bold and when you go to greet the actor after the play, it may seem like they're wearing too much makeup. However, in the bright stage lights, nothing is as it seems. Much makeup is needed to make your face stand out. Read on for the list.

Foundation is a necessary part for any major role. Stage lights can bring out blemishes such as moles, zits, and freckles, making you appear ugly. Maybe that would be OK if you were Miss Hannigan in Annie, but if you were Belle in Beauty and the Beast, you wouldn't want that.
On Stardoll- All you need to do is remove all your freclkes and beauty marks in the Beauty Parlor.

Eye White is another major-part must-do, since it makes your eyes seem brighter. Be careful not to apply too much, though- this can make your eyes bug like a zombie or even appear bloodshot.
On Stardoll- dot White Collection Liquid Liner applied to both corners of your eye works excellently.

Eyeliner is an everyone-in-the-play necessity. Your eyes won't be visible under the stage lights without it.It also helps you keep your eyes open. Trust me- stage lights are BRIGHT, and the black eyeliner reflects it back.
Me, I use fluid liner, since eye pencil makes me jumpy. So...
On Stardoll- either dot Black Fluid Liner or dot Black Eye Kohl.

Mascara makes your eyes seem larger or more mystifying, and is good for child parts or fairytale characters. Playing Lumiere (the candle) in Beauty and the Beast, I had to wear mascara.
On Stardoll- dot Black Mascaras

Lipstick ensures that you look like you have a mouth onstage. It needs to be fairly dark to show up- lipstick your skin color just won't cut it. Gloss also works.
On Stardoll- Any bold dot or LUXE lipstick, LUXE lipgloss, or dot Lip Pencil

Eyeshadows are good for magical, mythical, or fairytale characters, like fairies and enchantresses. Lighter colors can be used for lead roles. When we did Chicago, all the crooks had smokey eyes.
On Stardoll- Any color dot Eyeshadow or Shade Stick

Blush outlines your features and makes your face stand out. Apply according to face shape and best features. Should be fairly bright.
On Stardoll- dot Blushes

See yah soon, everyone :)
